The rapid growth of the IE profession and academic departments outside the United States has led to a significant body of IE knowledge being developed, but this body of knowledge often does not find the appropriate archival outlets. This book focuses on two key aspects of the industrial engineering discipline – non-traditional settings and international environments. It clearly illustrates how IE based tools and techniques have been applied to a diversity of environments, many of which can be found in this book.
