Amritha Sanjeev was born on 24th June, 1994, in Trivandrum, Kerala. She started writing poems even before she learnt to write with a pen. The poem titled 'Ode to Muthanga' is her first published poem in 'The Indian Express'. Ever since then, she has been writing poems in national newspapers and periodicals. When Amritha was in standard VI, she authored 'A Tale of a Horse and Two Chief Ministers' in 'The Statesman'. Amritha was praised by Hon Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at Rashtrapati Bhawan in the year 2004. In the same year, she was given the status of 'State Guest' in Chandigarh by Captain Amerinder Singh, the then Chief Minister of Punjab. Amritha was also invited by the Government of Pakistan. In her 'science poems', one can find a harmonious blend of art and literature with science. She personifies even the elements of chemistry into 'damsels and demons' and make them present in the magical rhymes of poetry. This amply reveals the fact that high philosophy is not alien to the minds of children, and it justifies the words of William Wordsworth_'Child is the father of man'.
