Terry Wireman's latest book was written to assist companies, regardless of the type of industry or facility, to develop asset (equipment) management policies, which, when properly implemented, virtually eliminate equipment malfunctions or breakdowns. These solutions allow a company's assets to realize the maximum possible return on investment. In the first section of Zero Breakdown Strategies, the author introduces and explains the basic functions of each major type of mechanical and fluid power component. This section is an excellent reference and troubleshooting guide for a wide variety of systems, and it explains how each system functions and what steps should be followed to assure that it is properly maintained. There are also numerous illustrations to clarify the text, and, when necessary, the theory behind the operational principles of the mechanism is explained. The second section of the book then provides a detailed step-by-step process for implementing the Zero Breakdown Strategies program.
