Understanding the corrosivity of crude oil has been an active field for more than three decades. Recent concerns have been expressed on the corrosive nature of crude oils, especially those from oilsands. The main objective of these proceedings is to consolidate the current state-of-the-art pertaining to the corrosivity of crude oil under oil transmission pipeline operating conditions into one publication. Sixteen papers are organized into four sections: Locations for Water Accumulation, Mechanisms of Corrosion, Methodologies to Evaluate Corrosivity of Crude Oils, and Classical Papers.
