Incompressible Flow has long been considered a classic textbook for advanced level fluid mechanics courses covering viscous and non-viscous flow. The new Fifth Edition retains the format and approach that has proved successful in earlier editions. The book starts with a presentation of the basic principles, then gradually builds upon the math and physics behind key theories of fluid dynamics and gives examples of their applications through illustrative problems. For the first time, the book includes a new chapter on gas dynamics, as well as new content on the analysis of wind turbines and the topic of airfoil lift. Remedial content on advanced mathematics and thermodynamics serves as touchpoints for students who need to review key prerequisites. Worked examples and end of chapter problems help to reinforce students’ understanding of the concepts discussed. MATLAB codes used in solving problems featured in the text are available for download.
